About Folsom Lake RV
Even as a young man, Charles had a sense of adventure. He had several trucks with campers, and in 1978, he sold most everything he owned so he could purchase a fifth wheel trailer to full time RV across the US and Canada. About 1983, after having some issues with his own 5th wheel, he decided to open an RV service business out of the back of his pickup at the KOA campground in West Sacramento.
As business grew, he moved into a small warehouse. In 1985, he saw an opportunity to move the business to Rancho Cordova and opened CVL RV Services. Still providing RV service, but adding parts, rentals, and a few Used RV sales.
In 1989 a local dealer was going out business and Charles had the opportunity to purchase their new inventory. Now, he’s in New RV sales. He also tried a second location on El Camino but after a year and a half, he decided to simplify back to Rancho Cordova.
Charlie and Debbie were married in 1991. Debbie’s banking and accounting background helped form a solid financial foundation. Their goal has always been to run a good, stable business for customers and employees, and follow the golden rule, “Do unto others...”
In 1998, the business was moved to the current location, and the name changed to Folsom Lake RV. The décor is meant to be homey and friendly, a place that customers want to return to. They realize that they sell toys for the customer’s enjoyment. The RV business should be fun and hassle free.
Charlie and Debbie do RV themselves and have run into a number of our customers out on the road. During Charlie’s full timing days he was able to take in some historic events. The first Shuttle out of Cape Canaveral, the fall colors of New England, crossing the Trans-Canadian Highway, Ronald Reagan’s Inauguration and celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans twice. Oftentimes, their experiences are shared on our blog.
LET’S GO CAMPING!!!
